Company Introduction:

We are a leading EPC contracting company in Saudi Arabia, delivering high-impact projects in power generation, water treatment (RO plants), substations, pipelines, OHTL, and industrial facilities. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical to ensure the quality and compliance of mechanical works across our ongoing and upcoming projects.

Position Overview:

The QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical will be responsible for the inspection, testing, and documentation of all mechanical works to ensure they meet project specifications, client requirements, and international codes. This role involves reviewing drawings and materials, monitoring installation and fabrication, managing NCRs, and ensuring quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

Implement project-specific QA/QC procedures, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and method statements for mechanical works.

Ensure mechanical activities comply with ASME, API, ASTM, ISO 9001, and other applicable standards.

Conduct regular audits to assess quality systems and identify areas for improvement.

Inspection & Testing:

Perform inspection of mechanical installations, including piping systems, tanks, pumps, valves, HVAC systems, pressure vessels, welding works, and rotating equipment.

Witness and verify pressure tests, hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, NDT (RT, UT, PT, MT), and alignment checks.

Inspect fabrication works at site or workshop, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).

Material Verification & Control:

Inspect and verify incoming mechanical materials, including pipes, fittings, gaskets, valves, and supports.

Review and confirm MTCs (Material Test Certificates) and compliance with project specifications.

Maintain records for material traceability, handling, and storage.

Non-Conformance Management:

Identify, report, and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

Coordinate with engineering and site teams for corrective and preventive actions.

Conduct root cause analysis and ensure timely closure of quality issues.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of inspection reports, test results, calibration certificates, and welding logs.

Prepare and submit weekly and monthly QA/QC reports to project and quality managers.

Support in preparation of as-built documentation and final quality dossiers for project handover.

Coordination & Support:

Liaise with site engineers, consultants, third-party inspectors, and clients to ensure smooth inspection and approvals.

Provide technical support to site teams on mechanical quality standards and practices.

Participate in pre-inspection meetings (PIM), kick-off meetings, and site coordination sessions.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum 5+ years of experience in QA/QC roles for mechanical works in EPC, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

Hands-on experience in piping systems, HVAC, welding inspection, and pressure equipment.

Key Skills:

Deep knowledge of ASME B31.1/B31.3, API standards, ISO 9001, and Saudi Aramco/SEC specifications.

Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and welding maps.

Familiarity with QA/QC tools and software; strong documentation and reporting skills.

Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and communication abilities.

Preferred Certifications:

CSWIP 3.1, AWS-CWI, ASNT Level II (RT, UT, PT, MT)

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification

Aramco or SEC (Saudi Electricity Company) project experience is an advantage.
