QA QC Manager Jobs in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA at SPC Mechanical
To manage and coordinate the QA/QC Technicians and CWI personnel across the company. This position will also be responsible for the auditing of documentation managed by the QA/QC Team, as well as assisting to deal with any complications or disputes that may arise across the company. A focus of this role will be to build a quality team from an existing structure and focus on education and training as a means towards a better Quality Product.
Qualification
Requirements:
CWI Certification (preferred)
15+ years of QA/QC inspecting experience
Ability to travel across state to cover projects in various areas
Essential Functions:
Build and develop a team and organizational structure for the Quality Department.
Manage and coordinate QA/QC Technicians in the field and within the pre-fabrication shop.
Assist with onsite activities as necessary.
Manage and coordinate CWI personnel in the field and within the pre-fabrication shop.
Assist with onsite activities as necessary.
Oversee, from a high level, all projects within SPC regarding quality, completion, and documentation follow-through.
Oversee fabrication shop and BIM departments regarding quality and documentation.
Assist the project team and QA/QC Technician in developing site-specific QA/QC Manual.
Utilize SPC’s procedures to create weld/braze logs, naming conventions, and ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
Coordinate Weld Maps with the pre-fabrication facility.
Develop or modify QA/QC Procedures based on project needs.
Work with Startup and Commissioning Specialists to ensure timely completion of turnover scopes and program synchronization.
Participate in meetings as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Organization of files and paperwork
Deep understanding of ASME Codes and state regulations
Willingness to teach and coach team members
Knowledge of weld logs, weld maps, and related documentation requirements
Commitment to high-quality work
Effective communication skills for diverse audiences
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to interpret construction documents and contracts
Report writing skills
Ability to investigate piping, ductwork, and HVAC/plumbing items for craftsmanship and compliance
Competency with various software platforms
Professional and courteous demeanor
Qualifications
Education
Preferred
Technical training or higher in Construction Engineering or related field.
Experience
Required
15 years of QA/QC inspecting experience
