Job Summary
Lead quality where the work happens. The QA/QC Manager is MCE’s onsite quality leader, responsible for implementing the project quality plan, verifying electrical construction and testing, resolving issues early, and keeping inspection and turnover records complete and audit-ready. The role partners closely with project leadership, field teams, Engineering, Safety, commissioning, vendors, third-party agencies, and customers.

Primary Responsibilities
- Own the project Quality Plan, ITPs, inspection checklists, hold/witness points, and quality staffing assignments.
- Verify field work against current IFC drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, manufacturer instructions, NEC/NESC/NEMA requirements, and project standards.
- Oversee inspections and testing for underground/conduit, grounding/bonding, cable installation, MV work, terminations, equipment setting, torque, labeling, pre-energization, and project-specific scopes.
- Coordinate qualified testing personnel, laboratories, vendors, and third-party agencies; review results for compliance.
- Manage receiving inspection, material/storage condition, calibration controls, NCR/QIR processes, rework verification, corrective actions, and issue closure.
- Conduct quality audits and field assessments; communicate risks, trends, open issues, inspection status, and turnover readiness.
- Maintain complete quality records and turnover packages; coach field teams on expectations and escalate conditions that could affect compliance, reliability, safety, or downstream work.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
- 5+ years in QA/QC, electrical construction, commissioning, inspection, or related field work.
- Strong electrical-construction knowledge and ability to interpret drawings, one-lines, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and manufacturer documentation.
- Experience with inspections/testing, NCR/corrective action, turnover, and field documentation.
- Strong communication, organization, and field leadership skills; valid driver’s license; ability to travel/relocate to project sites.
PREFERRED
- Electrical trade/license, technical degree, or construction management background.
- Utility, industrial, substation, BESS, solar, wind, data center, or large electrical-project experience.
- Quality/auditor/testing credentials; Autodesk Build/ACC, Procore, Bluebeam, Power BI, or similar tools.
Additional Information
FIELD EXPECTATIONS
Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, and work in active construction environments; use of required PPE; exposure to weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain; ability to work project schedules, including extended hours when required.
