About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Specialist to join our Trust & Safety team, focusing on Minor Safety and Exploitative Content (MSEC). This role involves reviewing and auditing moderation decisions to ensure compliance with Discord’s policies, improving moderation quality through feedback and training, and collaborating across teams to refine policies and tools. You will be integral to maintaining a safe environment for vulnerable groups while supporting continuous improvement in our moderation processes.
Responsibilities
Review and audit moderation actions related to minor safety and exploitative content to ensure policy adherence
Collaborate with moderators, analysts, and policy teams to identify trends, gaps, and inconsistencies
Provide actionable feedback to improve moderation accuracy and policy alignment
Lead calibration sessions based on audit findings and evolving content standards
Partner with cross-functional teams to influence policy updates and enhance moderation tools and workflows
Report on quality metrics, highlighting risks, successes, and opportunities for improvement
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in quality assurance, trust & safety, or content moderation, preferably within a tech or online platform
Deep understanding of minor safety, exploitative content, and global online safety challenges
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with moderation tools, audit processes, and metrics-driven performance tracking
Ability to manage sensitive or distressing content with resilience and professionalism
Flexibility to support various QA initiatives including automation, ML, and other content areas
Bonus Qualifications
Experience working on global teams with cultural sensitivity
Proficiency with data analytics tools and languages such as SQL
Multilingual abilities to support international moderation
Experience driving cross-functional trust & safety initiatives or policy changes
Familiarity with machine learning systems, automation tools, and AI technologies
Benefits
Competitive base salary range: $108,000 – $121,500, plus equity and benefits
