Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing leadership and support on assigned programs and projects ensuring that the Company’s products are manufactured in accordance with customer specifications and Company quality requirements. Serves as a liaison between customers, vendors and the Company on quality related issues, in support of company goal and objectives.
Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Reviews company and customer drawings, changes, inspections sheets, process procedures, test procedures, procurement documentation, quality manuals and inspection sheets ensuring company and customer quality requirements are met on assigned products, programs and projects
Provides technical support to assigned functional areas including visual aids, inspection sheets, and work instructions in support of the Company’s quality objectives
Provides leadership and guidance to Quality Assurance Inspectors, Quality Technician, production supervision and operators on company quality requirements
Interacts with representatives from a variety of functional areas, including design engineering, manufacturing engineering, purchasing and production and inspection personnel relating to products and programs associated with Quality Assurance
Interfaces with customer quality and engineering representatives on a variety of issues including flight safety programs
Schedules and hosts customer source inspectors
Performs vendor surveys and evaluates potential new vendors
Generates Quality Assurance documentation in accordance with applicable specifications. Develops and implements inspection procedures
Maintains the plants gage calibration systems and coordinates outside calibration resources, when necessary
Prepare prototype and submission documentation and first article inspection reports
Monitors returns and issues corrective actions (internal/external)
Supports AS 9100, NADCAP, and customer audits
Other duties as assigned as scheduled or required
Job Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field, preferably industrial or mechanical engineering, or Associates degree and equivalent relevant experience required
Three to five years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing/metal removal environment is preferred
Knowledge of geometric tolerancing (ANSI-Y14.5)
Familiarity with gaging and calibration systems is required
Knowledge of PC-DMIS CMM programming preferred
Knowledge of electronic gage programming preferred
Self-disciplined with ability to effectively interact at various levels of the organization
High degree of computer literacy
Attention to detail and highly organized
Stand, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, and safely work in manufacturing environment. May have to lift occasionally up to 40 pounds with full mobility
