JOB SUMMARY
Works under minimal supervision to manage daily quality assessment and quality assurance programs, including but not limited to, areas of licensure and accreditation from federal agencies and peer review organizations. Responsible for review and appropriate reporting of all adverse occurrences, which may be either patient, donor, recipient, or employee related. Collects, maintains, organizes, and presents all relevant data that documents function and status of quality management program.

The ideal candidate will have:
Oncology experience
Experience entering/managing data for complex treatment protocols
Experience auditing complex oncology treatment protocols
Strong communication skills
Ability to write detailed monitoring reports
Knowledge of clinical research protocols
Keen eye for errors and inaccuracies
Team player

Specific job duties for this position include:
Maintains compliance with protocol requirements and all applicable regulatory requirements
Performs accurate and complete data entry, case report form completion and query management
Appropriately utilizes the electronic medical record
Participate in monitoring visits, site initiation visits and close-out visits as needed
May assist in amending IIT protocols as needed
Attends required training, maintains applicable certification and/or licensure as required
Attends regularly scheduled departmental or team meetings
Assist manager in reviewing SUSARs
Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate health care discipline or device manufacturing

Experience
5 years of clinical experience with at least
2 years in quality assurance, infection control, or risk management or
5 years industrial, pharmaceutical, or similar experience in quality assurance and
2 years recent experience in quality assurance and biologic and device regulation, and certification as required by specific position
May consider additional years of related experience in lieu of education.

JOB DUTIES

Assists administrative and technical personnel to develop, organize, and evaluate quality management program goals and objectives.

Identifies and investigates with defined parameters: documents and reports, all adverse occurrences, and potential problems to Director or Department Chair, and as may be required with university administrative offices.

Provides working supervision to group of administrative and/or technical positions.

Submits data trends and outcome assessments; develops new measures as appropriate.

Organizes data gathering and facilities data review; prepares data reports.

Makes recommendations for problem resolutions.

Coordinates staff education programs and training seminars as necessary.

Manages sensitive issues and medical/social information in professional and confidential manner from liability standpoint.

Performs other duties as assigned.
