QA Tech Relief Jobs in Iowa, Louisiana, USA at Prestage Foods, Inc.
Location: Iowa
Ensure overall quality and food safety of products and materials at various stages of the production process. Analyze and test products to ensure they meet established quality standards.
Continuously inspect products, plant, employees, and equipment on the manufacturing floor to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
Sample finished products to verify compliance with customer specifications.
Conduct metal detector checks, blade inspections, etc., and report discrepancies and violations immediately to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, along with proposed solutions.
Complete required documentation (quality, food safety, and test forms) accurately and honestly.
Collaborate with other departments to implement procedure changes involving raw materials and finished goods to address non-compliance issues promptly.
Perform pre-operational and operational sanitation inspections.
Regularly complete Quality and Food Safety, CCP, and sanitation paperwork to ensure no deviations occur.
Conduct GMP and Sanitation audits with documented corrective actions and follow-up as needed.
Maintain KPIs and scorecards to promote continuous improvement.
Uphold a strong commitment to safety throughout the operating process.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma/GED or equivalent knowledge.
Proficiency in reading and writing English is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to identify and resolve problems promptly; analyze information effectively; develop solutions; work well in team problem-solving settings; apply reason even in emotional situations.
Ability to understand and carry out simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Capable of presenting information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure.
Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions and handle problems with concrete variables.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Willingness to learn additional QA roles such as cut floor QA, Harvest QA, and FSQA Auditor.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and communicate verbally. Frequently reach with hands and arms. Occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds frequently. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
Work Environment
May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, or heat. Noise levels may be loud. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for disabilities.
