Job Title: QA Technician

Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Technician develops quality plans and procedures, examines products and materials, and verifies that company and customer compliance standards are being met.
Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of Quality Control
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform basic food chemistry tests such as pH, Brix, and Viscosity on production samples of sauces, marinades, and beverages.
- Enforce the plant’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) code of conduct.
- Perform sensory and shelf-life tests on finished products.
- Communicate clearly with production staff when batches are out of specification.
- Take responsibility for placing product on QA Hold.
- Clearly and accurately record all data in both written and electronic form.
- Perform audits and inspections of production rooms.
- Monitor the production floor and verify that production line quality checks are being done correctly and at the right frequency.
- Double check all product labels to verify that the correct label is in use in production.
- Collect environmental swabs to verify that allergen sanitation was completed.
- Organize and manage quality assurance paperwork.
- Scan daily batch records into network archive system.
- Complete regular training exercises and meetings with production staff. (This duty will absolutely require a candidate who is high-energy, outgoing and a real “people person.” Strong consideration will be given to candidates whose work history shows relevant experience in this area).
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency working with Microsoft Office.
Proficiency working with ERP system.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency or fluency in conversational Spanish is a strong advantage.
Required Education:
- Degree in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Science, or another related field.
- 1-3 years of Quality Assurance experience in food manufacturing

Pay: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour
