Position Summary:
The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Systems Manager is responsible for the identification and implementation of FSQA systems and improving FSQA program effectiveness. The FSQA Systems Manager provides leadership, support, and guidance indirectly and directly to the FSQA team and other plant personnel to ensure food quality standards, food safety guidelines, legal requirements (as they pertain to food safety) and customer expectations are designed into digitized systems. The FSQA Systems Manager reports directly to the Corporate FSQA Manager and will assure consistent quality of production by developing FSQA systems, improving processes, digitalizing and organizing documentation, and project management. This position is responsible for identifying systems that are not in place today, and championing the procurement and on-boarding of new systems.
Job Requirements:
Essential Duties and Requirements include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop and manage quality systems that comply with internal and external requirements.
Leads the development and implementation of continuous improvement projects related to the electronic quality management system, manufacturing execution system, and quality system BI tools and provides hands-on expertise and guidance.
Lead development of processes and SOPs for Deviations, Investigations, CAPA, Change Control, and Quality Metrics across all facilities.
Responsible for monitoring overall quality system effectiveness and continuous improvements.
Lead and conduct detailed quality analyses including cost of quality trends and root cause analyses.
Establish, manage, track, trend and deliver timely reporting of departmental performance metrics and statistical process controls; drive actions as required.
Lead or participate in projects for improvement of processes, harmonization, infrastructure, product specifications, process/test methods, analysis tools, and business systems.
Assist with quality assurance functions in support of needs directed by Quality Management.
Collaborate with all stakeholders to improve performance of the lines, with a key focus on food safety, quality, and sanitation.
Design and conduct effective Quality and Food Safety training to all levels of the organization.

Pay Rate:
The expected base pay rate for this position is $120,000 – $130,000/Yr
Qualifications

Essential Skills
This position requires exceptional planning, organizing, analytical, problem solving, communication, and team facilitation skills.
This position further requires computer literacy, orientation to detail, quick decision-making ability and a high service orientation.
Educations Level: Undergraduate degree in Food Technology, Biology, Life Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, or equivalent.
Related Experience: Minimum 8 years of directly related food industry experience, including supervisory experience. Experience with FDA and other third-party auditing entities a plus.
Licenses / Certificates: SQF, HACCP, PCQI, and Food Defense certified.
Expertise Level: Knowledge of quality assurance / food safety concepts, practices, and procedures to handle complex tasks and give experienced guidance to others.
Hours of work vary and may include traditional office hours as well as non-traditional (night shift, weekends).
Language Skills
This position requires the ability to read, write and speak English in order to: read requests for proposals; contracts, correspond and communicate with current and prospective customers, employees, auditors and make presentations when required.
Mathematical Skills
Mental ability is required to complete business required math and formulas, ability to manage all data processing needs of the company.
Computer Skills
This position requires at least intermediate level knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint. Proficient with FSQA, BI, and ERP systems.
Reasoning Ability
Dealing with customers, employees, and others in the accomplishment of the goals of the company.
