Job Title: Staff Inspector/Auditor (Full-time)
Location: Remote, USA
Role Overview:
Ecocert USA, part of the Ecocert Group — a global organization focused on excellence in organic and sustainability certifications — is seeking a dedicated Staff Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and possess a working knowledge of certification processes across various industries, including but not limited to textiles, cosmetics, and sustainable practices. Experience in these sectors is preferred. The ability to work collaboratively with clients and coworkers while paying attention to detail is necessary, as are excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed reviews of handling system plans, ensuring compliance with private standards (Cosmetics, Textiles, and Inputs manufacturers) and the USDA National Organic Program.
Manage travel and scheduling logistics for inspections of new applicants and certified operations.
Assess operational compliance with regulations and standards and compile thorough reports.
Deliver inspection results through clear and concise written and oral communication within established deadlines.
Collaborate with certification staff, providing essential information for final reviews.
Perform peer evaluations of fellow inspectors, as needed.
Engage with other Ecocert team members to exchange insights from inspections, contributing to the refinement of policies and practices.
Expect extensive travel (50-75%) across the United States.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2,000 hours of experience and/or education in food/cosmetics/textiles processing or manufacturing systems. Organic experience is preferred.
Experience working with regulatory standards.
Exceptional attention to detail with strong communication skills (oral and written).
Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects without compromising quality. Independent work ethic with collaborative spirit.
Able to clearly communicate complex technical information in a positive and effective manner.
Proficient using Microsoft office software, Adobe Acrobat, databases, and other information technology.
