Principal Accountabilities

  • Perform routine raw material and finished product QA/C functions as assigned by QA Management, including process audit, laboratory QA/C testing, equipment calibration, and product sensory evaluation.
  • Execute non-conformance product protocols (e.g., Hold) and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards through audits and corrective actions.
  • Assist SQF Practitioner to maintain SQF certification by performing validation audits and updating food safety protocols.
  • Collect, review, interpret, verify, and analyze QA/C data to identify process improvements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects as assigned.
  • Assist in root cause analysis for food safety and quality issues, develop corrective action plans, and generate reports.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for QA Technicians and other personnel, including training new technicians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by QA Management and participate in cross-functional issue resolution.
  • Place on hold items that do not meet specifications, and report non-compliance findings.
  • Inspect and calibrate lab equipment, enforce GLPs, GMPs, HACCP, and other safety and quality programs.
  • Review and interpret data from departments, generate reports, and conduct internal inspections.
  • Assist in various projects and conduct food safety and quality trainings.
  • Responsible for CCP verifications and overall Food Safety and Quality functions as outlined in SQF.
  • Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED; BS in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, or related field preferred.
    • 2-3 years of QA/QC experience in food manufacturing or related fields.
    • Knowledge of food QA/C laboratory methods, HACCP, SQF, BRC, GFSI standards, GMP, and food regulations.
    • Strong problem-solving, communication skills, and bilingual ability (English/Spanish preferred).
    • Ability to work independently, manage projects, and work effectively in a team environment.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite and willing to work flexible hours.

    Compensation Range: $24.00-$36.00 per hour
