POSITION DESCRIPTION

Provide the primary quality support on the production floor through a variety of monitoring activities. Oversee and/or support numerous quality systems and programs, ensuring necessary sampling, testing, and releasing of materials is performed.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Floor verification– Perform quality checks and verification requirements of production lines for Operational Checklist, Sanitation and Line Clearance activities performed during production line Changeovers, including Allergen and ATP swabs. Monitor and enforce GMPs.

· Quality Systems – Collect and maintain retain samples; place non-conforming equipment and materials on Hold as needed and assist in root cause investigations as needed. Verify equipment is functioning as needed including Refrigeration / Freezer Units, scales, metal detection, water activity meter, ph meter, thermometer calibration for Bacon cooking. Monthly glass hard and Brittle Plastic and Ceramic inspections.

Assist with Pest Control verification as needed.
Product Testing – Collect necessary finished good product samples for testing. Review internal and external test results as needed for finished goods, incoming raw materials and packaging for approval and release in Fishbowl as required.
Meetings – Participate in meetings as requested, including but not limited to; USDA, Pre-Op Inspections, GMP Walks, Food Safety Team.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

Member of the Food Safety Team, attending scheduled meetings
Inspect the production line as needed for Line Clearance/Changeover acceptance. Review line for cleanliness, all items from the previous run have been removed and line is correctly set up for the next production run.
When required, monitor the cooking and cooling of Bacon, including temperature checks, ensuring appropriate time/temperature requirements have been met. Sending finished good samples to lab for testing.

Verify metal detection units are functioning properly.

Verify the key Food Safety Preventative Measures are being completed as defined during established checkpoints (Quality audits, GMP walks, program verification, etc.): Storage temperatures of Raw/WIP/FG materials, High Risk Processes, GMPs, Pest Control, Glass and Brittle Plastic Control, Allergen Control and Management, Facility cleanliness.
Maintain the environmental program including required swabbing and sending to lab per defined schedule.
Place material on hold which poses a Food Safety Risk; Disposition material per passing testing results or as instructed.
Notify USDA of upcoming related Production runs, escort as needed, execute corrective actions as recommended.

QUALIFICATIONS/DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

Previous Quality experience preferred.
Ability to navigate Fishbowl to move and release products.
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the

facility.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Self-started and detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills.
Ability to stay on task when assigned projects.
Bi-lingual a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
