Key Responsibilities
:
1. Quality Assurance and Control Planning:
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive QAQC plan for the project.
Ensure that all materials, processes, and finished work conform to specified standards and project requirements.
Ensure that all necessary testing, inspections, and certifications are performed on time and accurately.
2.
Team Leadership
:
Lead and coordinate the QAQC team, which may include quality inspectors, quality engineers, and other support staff.
Provide training and support to project teams to ensure proper quality control procedures are followed.
Oversee subcontractors’ quality control efforts and ensure compliance with project standards.
3.
Inspection and Testing
:
Monitor and inspect construction and project activities to ensure compliance with standards, safety protocols, and regulations.
Coordinate regular site inspections and monitor testing procedures.
Develop and implement corrective actions as necessary when deficiencies or issues are identified.
4.
Documentation and Reporting
:
Maintain thorough records of inspections, testing, and compliance activities.
Prepare regular reports on the quality status of the project, including any issues, corrective actions, and resolutions.
Communicate QAQC findings to relevant stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and clients.
5.
Risk Management
:
Identify potential risks to quality and take proactive steps to mitigate them.
Investigate any quality-related issues or non-conformances and resolve them quickly and effectively.
Work with other departments to address any potential issues related to scope, design, or safety that may impact quality.
6.
Compliance
:
Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations (local, national, or international).
Ensure that all quality assurance processes and procedures adhere to industry standards and best practices.
7.
Continuous Improvement
:
Establish metrics and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure the effectiveness of the quality control processes.
Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement corrective or preventive measures.
Review lessons learned and apply them to future projects.
Key Skills and Qualifications
:
·        Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
·        Experience:
At least 5-10 years of experience in quality assurance and control within the construction, engineering, or manufacturing industries.
Experience in leading QAQC teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
·        Certifications:
Certifications such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or equivalent quality management certifications are highly desirable.
Certifications relevant to the industry, such as NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers), AWS (American Welding Society), or other industry-specific accreditations, can be a plus.
·        Technical Skills:
Knowledge of QAQC systems, quality standards, and compliance regulations.
Strong understanding of project management tools and software.
Ability to use inspection tools and instruments for materials testing and quality monitoring.
·        Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership, organizational, and team-building skills.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) for reporting and stakeholder management.
Ability to analyze and solve complex quality-related issues.
