A global pharmaceutical organisation is seeking an experienced QC Microbiology Consultant to support the compliance and inspection readiness of its microbiology laboratory in Slovenia.
This is a senior, hands-on advisory assignment within a large-molecule and biologics manufacturing environment. The consultant will assess current laboratory practices, identify compliance gaps and support practical remediation ahead of health-authority inspections.
Key responsibilities
- Assess the QC microbiology laboratory’s current compliance status
- Identify gaps and develop practical remediation recommendations
- Support regulatory inspection and audit readiness
- Review microbiological testing of raw materials, IPC samples and biological products
- Review environmental-monitoring processes and laboratory controls
- Assess SOPs, training records and controlled documentation
- Support audit responses, deviations, investigations and CAPAs
- Recommend improvements to laboratory workflows and quality systems
- Provide microbiological expertise to Quality, Manufacturing and Regulatory teams
Essential experience
- Previous leadership of a GMP-regulated QC microbiology laboratory
- Direct experience within large-molecule, biologics, biopharmaceutical or biosimilar manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, GLP and EU/FDA regulatory expectations
- Proven experience preparing laboratories for health-authority inspections
- Environmental monitoring, contamination control and microbiological testing expertise
- Experience identifying and remediating laboratory compliance gaps
- Strong SOP, training and quality-documentation experience
- Relevant degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy or a related discipline
- Ability to work independently in a senior, non-managerial advisory capacity
A
pplicants must be EU/EEA/Swiss nationals or already hold unrestricted permission to work in Slovenia.
Regular onsite presence in Slovenia is required, with some remote flexibility potentially available.
