Job Description
My client is one of the world leaders in the design, manufacture, and production of skid-mounted rotary compressors for the oil and gas industry.
The Role
The QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all materials, components, and assemblies used within the company comply with relevant specifications, drawings, and documentation.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Quality Inspection role, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment, including experience with Metrology/Calibration/FARO Arm CMM.
Qualifications such as a HNC/D or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or similar, along with a quality-related qualification like CSWIP 3.0 or PCN, would be advantageous.
Candidates should possess knowledge of various manufacturing processes, the ability to evaluate and problem-solve, and an understanding of interpreting engineering drawings, certifications, specifications, and standards such as API, ISO, PED, etc.
Main
Duties
Ensure all inspections, documentation, and testing activities are completed accurately.
Serve as the point of contact for ensuring all materials supplied to and dispatched from the company meet established standards based on drawings, specifications, and documentation.
Perform inspection and quality assurance activities in Goods Inwards, Despatch, and Work in-process environments.
Inspect all components, assemblies, and complete packages throughout manufacturing using contract-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Manage the instrument calibration system.
Complete inspections, assessments, and provide reports identifying deficiencies and non-conformances to specifications and drawings.
Conduct technical machine shop inspections using Faro 3D CMM measuring equipment, in addition to basic mechanical measurement activities.
Assess painted components for paint adhesion, thickness, and quality.
Assess welded components to evaluate weld quality through visual inspection and basic measuring equipment.
