Quality Engineer II
New Bern, NC / Full-time
Your responsibilities
The Product Quality Engineer role is to work with the various departments (DE, ME, PD-Assy, PD-Fab) to identify and correct issues that affect the quality of the appliance.
Lead/Assist in the continuous improvement of product and processes in response to WFR, TCR, AR, FPY, CTS, and Scrap concerns.
Lead/Assist with determining root cause of defects with appliances and assist in identifying/implementing corrective actions.
Lead/Assist in determining root cause and identifying/implementing corrective actions for product defects found in Final Audit and Quality Life Testing.
Manage and sign-off the release of in-house parts, new models, and variants from a Quality perspective utilizing the Metaphase/PDM/Release Plan system.
Support the day-to-day activities of the Final Audit and Life Testing personnel.
Contribute/Assist with implementation and maintenance of BSH Production Systems tools.
Back-up to Supplier Quality Engineering as needed.
Manage the internal Waiver (Special Release) and Quality Alert system.
Issue/Manage Internal and External Quality holds as needed.
Assist with monitoring, generating, and communicating Product Quality metrics. e.g. WFR, audit rate.
Cooperates with other individuals and groups as necessary.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Your profile
Bachelor’s degree (Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Quality) – Required
5-7 Years of Experience (manufacturing / assembly) – Required
Certificate (Green or Black Belt Six Sigma) – Preferred
Certificate (ASQ-CQE) – Preferred
Certificate (Shainin Red X Journeyman) – Preferred
Able to perform duties with minimal supervision, handle multiple tasks and be prompt in meeting deadlines.
Working Knowledge of ISO and FMEA as well as state-of the art quality management methods
Familiarity with all Microsoft products. Proficiency in Excel, Access, SAP/PDM, PowerBI, Visio, Project, GD&T, Minitab, and PowerPoint is desired.
Able to use systematic problem-solving methods. e.g. Six Sigma Green Belt, Red X, etc.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization via excellent written and oral communication skills
Understand quality characteristics, dimension tolerancing, SPC, GD&T.
Must be able to work well with people in other departments under difficult and sometimes stressful circumstances.

Your Pay & Benefits
The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

40 hours of paid personal leave (Production Line).
12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
