Job Overview:
The Quality Control Inspector (QC1) is responsible for ensuring products meet the quality and efficiency standards set by JM Davidson’s quality control program, executing its performance according to contract requirements, completing documentation on time and cultivating customer satisfaction with the client. QC1 reports directly to the QC Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure Company standards as outlined in the Quality Manual are effectively implemented and provide timely notification to Management Team of any deficiencies.
- Responsible for performing quality control inspections
- Read and analyze Welding Procedure Specifications, Procedure Qualification Records, Welder Certifications, and Weld Maps
- Produce quality control reports for management and customer reviews of the construction code requirements and company policy.
- Generate inspection reports in an expeditious and thorough manner
- Work with Project Team and other leadership to ensure that project dates and goals are met
- Responsible for the completion, and maintenance of QC related documentation, ensuring the currency and accuracy of all files and documentation for compliance with contract requirements and audit purposes.
- Coordinate and ensure that all on-site and off-site testing and inspections are performed in accordance with the contract documents, maintaining all appropriate logs and reports pursuant to the contract documents.
- Review all test and inspection reports and notify Project Management team of all deficiencies and corrections actions.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Create “Redline” Drawings as required for “As built” documentation of completed work when different from customer approved drawings.
- Ability to understand and read basic inspection tools required to approve and or reject inspection of mechanical systems including piping and structural activities.

Education and/or Experience:
- Quality Control: Minimum 5 years in the construction field
- Must possess experience in quality management systems and quality system audits
- Well organized, detail oriented and multi-tasked
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Knowledge of codes and standards
- Strong oral and written communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
- CWI required
- Must adhere to all federal, state, and company safety rule and regulations and participate in daily safety meetings.

This position consists of light to medium work, and the employee is subject to both outside and inside environmental conditions and hazards such as working in high heat and extreme cold and in proximity of moving machinery and equipment.
