We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QC Microbiologist to join our Quality Control team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiological testing and environmental monitoring within a regulated environment. The QC Microbiologist will be responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of our products through rigorous environmental monitoring, testing, and data analysis. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and microbial control within our manufacturing environments.
Location: Indianapolis, IN. This position involves shift work which will be defined through site startup and commercialization readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrates technical experience in microbiology techniques and quality control in a GMP environment.
Support and provide technical knowledge of endotoxin, bioburden, and environmental monitoring.
Perform routine microbiological sampling and testing for air, surface, water, and personnel contamination, using established microbiological techniques (e.g., plate counts, endotoxin testing, bioburden).
Conduct regular microbiological monitoring of clean rooms, controlled environments, and critical areas to ensure compliance with established standards.
Execute microbiology testing associated with qualification protocols.
Support deviation investigations and OOS/OOT/OOE investigations with testing, if needed.
Responsible for successful on-time completion of required training curricula comprising of the necessary Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Aseptic Techniques, Gowning Qualifications, Testing and specifications, and other relevant training including HSE for the specific role.
Support internal and external Audits and Inspections, if needed.
Essential Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biological sciences, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher is a plus.
A Minimum of 2 years of experience in a QC microbiology role, specifically in environmental monitoring within the pharmaceutical environment.
In-depth knowledge of microbiological testing methods, environmental monitoring, and contamination control techniques.
Proficiency in laboratory instrumentation, microbiological analysis, and data analysis software.
Experience with regulatory requirements (GMP, FDA, USP, ISO).
Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify and resolve complex microbiological issues.
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, quality, and compliance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Adaptability to cross-training in different wet chemistry techniques.

Benefits:
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $81,200-$150,800/year; however, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
