Role Description This is a full-time, on-site QMS – Construction role based in Lae. The position is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving quality management systems across construction projects to ensure compliance with company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing quality documentation, conducting site inspections and audits, and verifying that construction activities meet approved drawings, specifications, and codes. The role will coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues, track non-conformances, and drive corrective and preventive actions. The successful candidate will also support training on quality procedures, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and prepare regular quality performance reports for management.

Qualifications

  • Construction and inspection skills, with experience applying quality standards and codes on active project sites.
  • Ability to work with architectural drawings and technical specifications to verify compliance in construction activities.
  • Budgeting and cost awareness to support quality-related planning, resource allocation, and reporting.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for documentation, analysis, and communication.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of QMS frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001) and experience in developing or implementing quality procedures.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced project environment.
