Job Title: Test Engineer (Transformer Testing & Quality Assurance)

Job Summary: The Test Engineer is responsible for conducting comprehensive testing and ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of transformers and related electrical machines. This includes developing test plans, performing various tests such as insulation and dielectric testing, analyzing results, and providing feedback to the design and R&D teams for continuous improvement. The role also emphasizes adherence to international standards, safety procedures, and efficient testing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance with Standards: Ensure all testing procedures meet international and national standards (IEC, ANSI, IS).
Test Planning: Develop and implement detailed test plans and procedures for transformer and electrical machine testing.
Instrument Calibration: Maintain, calibrate, and ensure the accuracy of testing equipment and instruments.
Performance Testing: Conduct routine, type and special tests.
Dielectric Testing: Perform high-voltage dielectric testing and insulation tests to assess voltage withstand capabilities.
Quality Control: Ensure strict quality control measures are followed during testing to detect any defects or non-conformance.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate failures during testing, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Documentation: Accurately record test results, observations, and discrepancies, generating detailed test reports.
Final Testing: Perform final acceptance tests on transformers before dispatch, ensuring all specifications and standards are met.
Oil Testing: Analyze transformer oil to assess its quality, dielectric strength, DGA, and suitability for use in the transformer.
Environmental Testing: Simulate various operating conditions to evaluate transformer performance and reliability under stress.
Reliability Testing: Conduct tests to assess transformer lifespan and reliability under different operating scenarios.
Collaboration: Collaborate with design, engineering, and R&D teams to provide feedback for product improvements and design optimizations.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to and audit safety protocols during all testing activities to ensure a safe working environment.
Training: Provide training to junior engineers and technicians on testing methods, safety practices, and operational procedures.
Process Improvement: Continuously seek and implement improvements in testing procedures, methods, and equipment to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field or 5-8 years equivalent experience with an Associate’s degree in a related field.
Proven experience in testing MV transformers in a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience in a supervisory role in a fabrication shop.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy objects.

Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for working with tools and equipment.

Ability to work in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Physical stamina to work long hours when necessary to meet project deadlines.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.

Job Title: Testing Technician (Transformer Testing & Quality Control)

Job Summary: The Testing Technician is responsible for performing a variety of hands-on testing and inspection tasks to ensure transformers and electrical machines meet quality standards. This includes conducting routine electrical tests, maintaining testing equipment, documenting results, and supporting the Test Engineer in verifying transformer performance and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Execution: Perform routine tests on transformers, including insulation resistance, winding resistance, load testing, and dielectric tests.
Equipment Calibration: Assist in calibrating and maintaining testing instruments and equipment to ensure they are functioning accurately.
Oil Testing: Assist in the analysis of transformer oil to evaluate its quality, dielectric strength, and purity.
Routine Inspections: Conduct visual and electrical inspections of transformers and electrical components during the testing process.
Data Recording: Record test results, observations, and anomalies, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation.
Support Final Testing: Assist in conducting final acceptance tests on transformers before they are dispatched, ensuring all specifications are met.
Test Setup: Prepare transformers and electrical machines for testing, including setting up equipment and ensuring proper connections.
Safety Compliance: Follow and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment during testing activities.
Troubleshooting: Identify and report any issues or discrepancies during testing and assist in troubleshooting problems.

Job Title: Autoclave Operator (Transformer Oil Processing & Drying)

Job Summary: The Autoclave Operator is responsible for the operation of autoclave equipment, oil processing machines, and vacuum filling systems to ensure transformers are properly dried, treated, and filled with insulating oil. This role also includes performing various connections for tap changers and ensuring proper tanking operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Autoclave Operation: Operate autoclave equipment to dry transformers under controlled conditions, ensuring optimal moisture removal from the windings and core.
Oil Processing & Filling: Manage the oil processing machine for filtering and degassing transformer oil. Fill transformers with oil under vacuum to ensure the elimination of air and moisture, maintaining transformer integrity.
Oil Treatment: Oversee the transformer oil treatment process, including oil filtration, dehumidification, and ensuring the oil meets required standards before filling.
Tap Changer & Tank Connections: Perform necessary electrical and mechanical connections related to the tap changer, bushings, and other components during the oil filling and vacuum process.
Vacuum System Operation: Monitor and operate the vacuum system to ensure transformers are vacuumed properly before oil filling, preventing air and moisture contamination.
Transformer Assembly: Assist in assembling transformers by connecting and securing all electrical connections to the tank, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all processes, including drying, oil filling, and vacuum operations, meet quality standards and operational specifications.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on autoclave, oil process machines, and vacuum systems. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as needed.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines during operations, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of oil filling, vacuum procedures, and maintenance logs for traceability and compliance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.75 – $30.00 per hour
