Main Purpose

The main purpose of this role is to provide support to the quality team by taking ownership of operational aspects of the quality department, with the aim to ensure fluid communication between departments, suppliers, and customers. In addition, this role acts as an ambassador for the quality department with regards to roasting, cupping and as support to the Lab Assistant when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Analysis

· Participating in the cupping of samples.

· Roasting coffee, with a focus on consistency.

Pre-shipment Sample Management

· Ensuring the pre-shipment samples are logged and accounted for promptly.

· Conducting weekly list of all pre-shipment samples to be chased, adding any new contracts from the previous week to ensure they are monitored.

· Chasing suppliers for pre-shipment samples ahead of their FOB date to ensure they arrive on time, avoiding delays to the contracted shipment period.

· Communicate any issues or delays regarding pre-shipment samples with trade and relevant customers.

· Communicate with B2B customers for their evaluation results to inform the relevant shipper.

· Communicate sample evaluation results to all relevant parties & update all relevant internal systems.

· Attend the weekly Quality, Logistics & Trade meeting, acting as the quality department liaison person.

Data and Operations Management

· Following internal procedures to record data.

· Other duties as specified from time to time to meet the needs of the business.

Personal Specification

Essential

· Right to Work

· At least 1 year of work experience

· Knowledge of the coffee industry

· Competent use of Microsoft Office

· Reliable, Honest and Punctual

· Professional approach to work

Desirable

· Certified Q-Grader or any relevant coffee industry accolade/certification.

· Language skills – Spanish

· Roasting experience
