JOB OVERVIEW:
The Sanitation Technician will be responsible for all aspects of externally sanitizing all production equipment and the cleanliness for the entire plant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Knowledge of all cleaning agents and applications, external, internal, cleaners, and sanitizers.
2. Properly document and follow all procedures set forth in the frequency guide and standards.
3. Ability to properly clean all production and packaging equipment as specified.
4. Ability to properly measure and follow proper mixing procedures.
5. Ability to evaluate equipment sanitation to food and safety standards.
6. Clean and Sanitize areas throughout the facility including equipment, overheads, floors, walls.
7. Ability to accurately interpret written instructions, handles complex and difficult jobs efficiently
8. Maintain plant cleanliness in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food safety standards.
9. Responsible for compliance of company rules and regulations of food and safety standards.
10. Ability to work independently near and around heavy equipment.
11. Must be able to work in a loud environment.
12. Must be flexible for scheduled work hours and overtime if needed.
13. Requires working in a wet, environment, bending, standing, climbing up and down stairs/ladders.
14. Must follow proper cleaning procedures.
15. Complete scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation task on master sanitation list
16. Work safe with and around cleaning chemicals.
17. Complete job task in a timely manner
18. Must be available to work all shifts to cover vacations or call outs if needed.
19. Report to work on time and use time wisely.
20. Always wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when working with or around chemicals.
21. Must work well with others.
22. Sanitation experience preferred but not required.
23. Comply with company attendance policy.
24. Sign off on all completed work assignments.
25. Work responsibly with sanitation cleaning tools and equipment.
26. Follow plant safety rules and report all known unsafe work conditions.
27. Able to read and understand (SDS) Safety Data Sheets
28. Validate sanitation effectiveness with visual inspections.
29. Perform chemical titrations for proper cleaning methods.
30. Other duties assigned by supervisor
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read reports and other documents, analyzes, and interprets common information. Ability to effectively present information to management as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand or sit for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers, to handle, or feel equipment for the purpose of sanitation. Run heavy equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Field positions will be exposed to various unfamiliar conditions where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn and which may include, but are not limited to manufacturing and warehouse plants, and other locations as directed by supervisor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but increases significantly in warehouse and manufacturing plants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience required.
Prior experience in the carbonated soft drink industry a plus.
Understands and can follow all OSHA/GMP/HACCP required training.
Must be 18 years or older
Favorable background and drug screen.
Ability and willingness to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
Must be able to provide own transportation to various locations in organizational service areas, as required by duties.
