Quality Assurance Coordinator OPWDD-Part Time

Job Summary:

The GRACE Foundation of NY is looking for a dedicated and organized Quality Assurance coordination to join our team! If you have a strong understanding of OPWDD regulations or have training from the Justice Center as an investigator, and enjoy supporting people with autism, then this could be a meaningful role for you.

Responsibilities

Program Supports

Conduct internal audits of OPWDD-funded programs
Serve as Corporate Compliance Officer for Agency.
Ensure documentation of services provided are accurate and within OPWDD and Medicaid regulations
Responsible for assisting with preparation of agendas for Staff Training, In-Service Training and any other required trainings, and ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations.
In conjunction with Human Resources Department, Write policy and procedures for Agency programs.
Develop Risk Management Plan for Agency and ensure compliance in conjunction with Human Resources
Conduct comprehensive clinical record reviews and other internal quality reviews with a specific focus on Medicaid OPWDD and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Work with program staff to address any audit findings and improve documentation and procedures
Ongoing review to ensure that all participant records are up to date, approved for services by OPWDD and accurate (enrollment, increase in units, decrease in units, discharge) via CHOICES.
In the presence of Human Resources and/or Executive Director, conduct necessary investigation meeting(s) and document findings and ensure all steps are taken to close out any open issues. Reports to incident management system (OPWDD/IRMA) as per regulatory requirements.
Review all incidents and occurrences, chairs quarterly Incident Review Meetings, prepares trend reports and ensures all recommendations and safeguards are followed. Reviews Participant/Employee Satisfaction Surveys and makes recommendations for improvements as needed.
Attend external committee meetings as requested.
Track/audit employee evaluations (DSP), enter into Evero, and identify training needs based on error trends.
Work with staff to train on compliance with regulations, policies and standard operating procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
Provide feedback to Executive Director about compliance with regulatory standards and quality documentation.
Track training requirements for program staff and assist with in service training as needed.
Conduct internal self- audits for agency departments as requested.

Qualifications & Work Experience

BA Degree in a human services field. Master’s Degree a plus.

Must have knowledge of quality improvement processes.
3+ years’ experience working with OPWDD in a quality assurance capacity.
Maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all work processes and interactions with staff at all levels.
Strong communication skills and time management skills.
Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Evero, CHOICES, Irma systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust as required.
Flexible schedule.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all situations.
Act as positive role model while interacting with staff at all levels.
