Job Summary:
The Parts Inspector will assess and maintain the quality of production operations and finished parts.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Conducts visual and dimensional inspections to ensure quality of finished products.
Determines and utilizes appropriate inspection processes and equipment to verify that products meet all requirements.
Reading blueprints and specifications to ensure that products meet requirements.
Properly using inspection and measuring equipment to determine product conformity.
Confirms and approves quality of finished parts.
Reviews job travelers to ensure that all previous operations were completed properly.
Quarantines nonconforming product for review and disposition.
Properly records inspection results required by each production job.
Prepares associated quality documentation to be sent to the customer.
Reviews and organizes area workflow to maintain production schedules.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques and equipment.
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and machining processes.
Ability to solve basic math equations.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and specifications.
Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word or similar software to prepare reports.
CAD experience is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervision
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two years of experience as a quality control inspector preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to traverse production facility to conduct inspection.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
