Under the direction of StudioBuilt leadership, the Quality Assurance Manager will provide oversight to the Quality Inspector(s) on the inspection of completed work and/or work in progress to determine whether the work meets specifications and plan requirements as well as conducting inspections independently. Monitor overall construction performance regarding technical quality and compliance with design and specification requirements. Note and report on work that does not meet requirements and work with production team to ensure efficient rework to quality standards and/or the implementation of solutions.
Responsibilities:
Understand the QA/QC inspection process and documentation requirements specifically as they relate to regulatory compliance for residential properties. This will include:
Reading blueprints and instructions on the quality expectations for products and supplies
Approving or rejecting raw materials with respect to quality standards
Utilize automated systems as well as output samples for appropriate testing.
Reading blueprints
Measuring dimensions
Testing functionality
Comparison to specs
Review of signed-off QA/QC forms for completeness and accuracy of the information and ensure all required signatures have been captured
Ensure the electronic version of all required documentation is compiled and saved in the appropriate drive folders and databases
Direct the work of the Quality Inspector(s) on the team to ensure adequate and timely inspections. Includes training as well as any troubleshooting that may arise
Monitor and keep updated on the progress of systems and subsystems and ensure compliance and efficiency within safety standards and report appropriately
Perform any other duties/responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Associate Degree preferred or relevant experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing or construction environment
Proven experience in either residential construction is required; experience in manufacturing or modular construction preferred
Familiarity with quality testing systems and equipment as well as a thorough knowledge of quality control standards and methodologies
Prior experience in leadership and/or training preferred
Ability to utilize and assist others in the use of Microsoft office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.) and other automated databases utilized on the job
Strong organization and time management skills
Ability to troubleshoot issues, come up with solutions and work with the team to implement solutions as well as process improvement
Ability to work with others – team player and to work independently with initiative when required
Good communication skills with co-workers
Physical Requirements
This job will require frequently walking, standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing stairs in/ around manufacturing facility, single-family homes, and travel on uneven and unpaved surfaces. Must have the ability to operate and automobile, type on a keyboard, and move, lift, or carry equipment over 50 pounds.
