Job Overview

As a Quality Assurance (QA) Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our software products for retail investors and traders. You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and UX/UI Designers to design, execute, and document test cases that guarantee our software meets high standards for performance, reliability, and user experience. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will ensure the software is delivered with a smooth and consistent user experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Test Planning & Case Design

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand requirements and create comprehensive test plans.
  • Develop, document, and maintain detailed test cases for functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Identify key test scenarios based on user workflows, especially focused on retail investors and traders' needs.

2. Manual & Automated Testing

  • Execute manual test cases to ensure product functionality aligns with defined requirements.
  • Contribute to test automation efforts, using automated testing tools where applicable.
  • Ensure test coverage for all new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.

3. Bug Identification & Tracking

  • Identify, document, and prioritize defects, collaborating with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Use bug-tracking software to maintain records of bugs, track their status, and follow up on solutions.
  • Conduct re-tests and regression testing to validate that issues are resolved and updates do not impact existing functionality.

4. Performance & Security Testing

  • Assist in performance and load testing to assess product stability under different usage levels.
  • Work with the team to incorporate security testing practices, ensuring that our products protect users’ data and comply with industry standards.

5. Quality Assurance Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain reports on testing outcomes, defect metrics, and quality metrics.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on QA progress, risks, and any challenges encountered.
  • Collaborate in root cause analysis of defects to ensure continuous improvement in QA practices.

6. Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization

  • Support efforts to enhance QA methodologies and improve testing processes.
  • Stay current with industry best practices in quality assurance, testing tools, and capital markets regulations.
  • Propose enhancements to testing frameworks and processes, contributing to an efficient and high-quality QA process.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in software quality assurance, preferably in capital markets, fintech, or finance-related software.
  • Experience with manual and automated testing tools such as Selenium, JIRA, or TestRail.
  • Knowledge of capital markets, retail investing, and trading platforms is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience in iterative development cycles is an advantage.
