Location: 100% remote.
Job Description:
The key function that Automation QA Engineers perform is writing scripts and creating automation environments for repeated tests. Using various automation tools, they design, test, and deploy effective test automation solutions. Their primary goal is to automate as much of the testing effort as possible with a minimal amount of code. This approach helps optimize the testing process, which would otherwise consume a significant percentage of test resources.
To fulfill this role, Automation Engineers implement appropriate automation techniques to accurately meet the short and long-term goals of the testing organization.
Skill Set required:
Technical Skills – Strong hands-on experience in developing end-to-end test scripts. Expertise in identifying the scope of automation, driving automation test development, and updating automation frameworks. Proficiency in programming languages, such as JavaScript and Java.
Analytical Skills – Ability to analytically examine bug reports, prioritize necessary tests, and streamline application functions through automated testing processes.
Attention to Detail – Being detail-oriented is required as they test web and mobile applications to identify areas for improvement and isolate problems effectively.
Communication Skills – Strong verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with the engineering team, creating testing plans, and preparing written reports showcasing errors.
Tools Knowledge:
Automation testing tools: Playwright or similar (Selenium, Cypress, Taiko, etc)
Mobile automation testing tools for Android, iOS, and cross-platform applications
Continuous Integration tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar
JIRA – Defect tracking and task creation tool
Confluence – Repository for Documentation
Responsibilities:
Plan and prioritize testing activities.
Write, design, and execute automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically.
Maximize test coverage for the most critical features of the system.
Determine the priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these scenarios.
Write documentation for automated processes, including test plans, test procedures, and test cases.
Build test automation frameworks.
Log and document bugs in the tracking system.
Set up and maintain Continuous Integration.
Qualifications and Certifications:
2-3 years of automation experience is a must.
Work experience with offshore/nearshore/onshore models is a must.
Experience with Agile methodology is preferred.
