Overview:

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a vital role in our continuous quality improvement efforts and work collaboratively with program leadership to ensure high standards of service and regulatory adherence. The position ensures regulatory compliance and billing integrity in all programs/services and is responsible for incident management.

What Your Role Will Do:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OPWDD, Justice Center, CMS regulations and OMIG billing protocols.
Review and interpret new regulations and make policy recommendations to maintain compliance.
Assist with policy/procedure revisions to reflect current regulatory standards.
Review current program workflows and documentation requirements.
Monitor Medicaid billing compliance for services including Res Hab, Day Hab, Community Hab, SEMP, and FI.
Conduct internal audits of program records and service documentation.
Prepare audit summaries with corrective action recommendations for Program Directors.
Support external survey readiness and internal quality monitoring.
Collaborate with program managers to implement corrective actions and quality improvements following internal and external audits.
Review non-reportable and reportable incidents using the electronic health record.
Conduct investigations as needed.
Navigate the online IRMA, WSIR and AARM systems for updating incident requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in a related field.
Strong knowledge of OPWDD regulations, including Parts 624 & 625, and OMIG billing requirements.
Experience with program operations Community Habilitation, Day Habilitation, and Self-Directed Services.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with eVero is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
Current Certification as an Incident Investigator preferred.

Work Location: Westbury and Hicksville, NY (Nassau County)

Work Hours/Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, with flexible scheduling options available.

Pay: $28.00/hr.

Paid Time Off:
