As part of our expanding Digital and Technology organization, we are seeking an Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to help strengthen our software quality practices through modern automation frameworks and integrated testing strategies.
What’s Unique About This Job
This role focuses on building and maintaining automated testing capabilities that support continuous integration and reliable software delivery. The Automation Test Engineer works closely with software engineers, product teams, and DevOps partners to ensure quality is embedded across the development lifecycle.
The role emphasizes automation engineering, CI/CD integration, and scalable testing frameworks that enable faster and more dependable delivery of digital solutions across PriceSmart’s technology ecosystem.
What You’ll Do
Test Automation Development
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts supporting functional, regression, and integration testing.
Build and maintain reusable automation frameworks that support scalable and reliable test execution.
Expand automated test coverage across critical application workflows to reduce manual testing dependencies.
Support automated validation for web applications, APIs, and service integrations.
CI/CD and DevOps Integration
Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous validation throughout the software delivery process.
Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to embed automated tests within build and deployment workflows.
Optimize automated testing execution to improve deployment confidence while minimizing release cycle times.
Support automated quality gates across environments to ensure production readiness.
API, Integration and Cloud Testing
Develop automated tests for RESTful APIs and service-based integrations.
Support validation of distributed applications running in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
Contribute to testing strategies for microservices and event-driven architectures.
Monitor and improve the reliability and stability of automated test suites.
Engineering Collaboration
Work closely with developers to improve application testability and identify quality risks early in the development lifecycle.
Collaborate with QA Analysts and Product Owners to translate functional requirements into automated test scenarios.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to planning discussions that strengthen overall product quality.
Promote best practices in automation, testing standards, and quality engineering across development teams.

What You Bring
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Three or more years of experience developing automated tests for enterprise software applications.
Experience working within Agile or Scrum-based development environments.
Technical Skills
Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools.
Programming experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
Experience with API testing and automation tools.
Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
