QC and Compliance Manager
Position Summary
The QC and Compliance Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the Quality Control and Compliance functions within a food manufacturing environment. This role ensures that quality systems, regulatory programs, food safety standards, and manufacturing practices are properly implemented, monitored, and continuously improved to support operational continuity and compliance.
The position requires strong technical knowledge of food quality systems, regulatory standards, statistical process control, and manufacturing quality practices. The QC and Compliance Manager will play a key role in maintaining compliance with GMPs, ISO 22000 standards, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and other applicable food safety and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Quality Control and Compliance functions within the manufacturing operation.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety standards, health and safety rules, and environmental policies.
- Manage and maintain quality systems, including HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, and related regulatory programs.
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of quality assurance and compliance processes.
- Apply statistical process control tools, including SPC, Cp, and Cpk, to monitor, analyze, and improve process performance.
- Ensure quality standards are consistently followed across manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with plant leadership, production teams, and quality personnel to maintain continuity of quality department operations.
- Identify quality risks, process deviations, and compliance gaps, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote a culture of quality, food safety, operational discipline, and regulatory compliance.
- Support audits, inspections, documentation control, and compliance-related activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering preferred. Candidates with a degree in Food Processing, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related technical field may also be considered if they bring extensive and directly relevant experience in quality management within food manufacturing or a similar regulated manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience as a Quality Manager in food manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, or a similar regulated environment.
- Previous experience managing quality systems such as HACCP, FSSC 22000, and ISO 22000.
- Experience with statistical analysis and process control tools, including SPC, Cp, and Cpk.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Lean and Six Sigma training preferred.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of quality control, compliance, and food safety systems.
- Ability to lead quality initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of GMPs, ISO 22000 standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production, operations, and leadership teams.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Strong sense of accountability, urgency, and operational ownership.
Physical and Work Requirements
- Must be able to walk throughout the manufacturing plant.
- Must be able to work in hot areas as required.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices and all applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory policies.
- Must comply with applicable ISO 22000 regulatory program standards.
- Availability to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
