Summary:
This job is responsible for evaluating and analyzing the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials and personnel, and developing, coordinating and implementing initiatives to improve efficiency of operations and in accordance with established practices, processes, regulations, guidelines and standards in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Abide by, enforce and participate in the implementation and ongoing oversight of all company safety standards and regulations.
Analyze product, process, people data identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
Interpret drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and communicate with management to determine quality and reliability standards.
Observe workers using equipment to verify that equipment is being operated and maintained according to standards.
Compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
Prepare charts, graphs, or diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, or machine utilization.
Develop and maintain standard work, work instructions and quality check points.
Study time, motion, methods, or speed involved in maintenance, production, or other operations to establish standard production rate or improve efficiency.
Recommend work measurement programs and analyze work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
Recommend revisions to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production, improve standards and achieve optimum quality within the limitations of equipment.
Recommend and assist in the establishment and implementation of safety procedures, identification and review safety issues, review safety and accident reports, and implementation of corrective action.
Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, or anticipated delays.
Review and recommend equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposal
for integrating machinery, equipment, and tooling into the manufacturing process.
Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
Discuss changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques and procedures with staff and coordinate corrections.
Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance.
Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test methods.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field from four-year college or university; and less a year of experience in quality assurance and systems; or any combination of education, experience and training.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Math Ability:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulae, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:

The primary work location for this job is in an office setting but may be frequently required to be in the manufacturing or warehouse areas. The job requires that the individual holds a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle, as well as travel by car or air occasionally, including overnight stays.
The work environment characteristics described above necessitate the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses/goggles, gloves, closed shoes, respirator and other protective equipment as specified by OSHA and other federal/state regulations. The employee must always wear the prescribed personal protective equipment while performing the duties of this job, and as specified or designated in production or warehouse areas.
