Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures, inspection plans, and quality documentation on site.
- Conduct inspections on building works including structural, architectural, and finishing works.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and contract requirements.
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
- Prepare and submit Inspection Request (IR) and Material Inspection Request (MIR) to consultants/clients.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, and relevant authorities.
- Review and verify material approvals, method statements, and technical submittals.
- Monitor and inspect incoming materials to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
- Ensure proper testing of materials and works such as concrete cube tests, soil tests, waterproofing tests, and other relevant tests.
- Record and maintain QA/QC reports, inspection records, checklists, and testing documentation.
Site Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and consultants regarding quality-related matters.
- Attend site meetings, quality meetings, and technical discussions when required.
- Assist site team in resolving quality issues and non-conformance matters.
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions for defective works.
Compliance & Documentation
- Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Site Observation Reports (SOR), and corrective action reports.
- Ensure all QA/QC documentation is properly compiled and updated.
- Maintain document control for quality records, reports, and inspection documents.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, company SOPs, and safety regulations.
- Assist during internal and external quality audits.
- Handover & Defect Management
- Conduct joint inspections during practical completion and handover stages.
- Monitor defect rectification works and ensure timely closure.
- Prepare quality punch lists and ensure proper rectification by subcontractors.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of working experience in QA/QC for building construction projects.
- Familiar with construction standards, specifications, and QA/QC procedures.
- Knowledge in CONQUAS, QLASSIC, ISO 9001, or other quality systems is an advantage.
- Able to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
- Good knowledge of building materials, testing methods, and construction processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic reporting documentation.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
- Contract employment for 6 months, renewable based on performance and project requirements.
- Willing to work at construction site and travel when required.
- Able to commence work immediately or within short notice is an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good documentation and reporting ability.
- Familiar with authority and consultant inspection procedures.
- Experience handling high-rise, commercial, residential, or mixed-development projects is an advantage.
