General Description:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards and specifications. This includes:
Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical specifications.
Conducting thorough product inspections for acceptance, including part markings, surface finishes, configurations, first article inspection routers, and associated documentation.
Preparing and completing First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in compliance with AS9102 and customer requirements.
Maintaining and reviewing the calibration of measuring equipment.
Identifying, documenting, segregating, and resolving non-conforming parts and documentation.
Collaborating effectively with team members, sharing knowledge, and training fellow teammates when necessary.
Performing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Work Experience Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 4+ years of experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience. (Quality inspection experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment is strongly preferred but not required.)
Proficiency in ISO 9001/AS9100 requirements.
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint reading.
Ability to utilize standard mechanical measuring tools, such as micrometers and calipers.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including basic spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing skills.
Strong written communication skills for effectively interacting with customers, suppliers, coworkers, and upper management.
Mentoring skills to guide and train other team members through hands-on coaching and example setting.
Capability to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance production processes.
Aptitude for reading and comprehending instructions and standard operating procedures.
A self-motivated attitude and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
