Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance

and Control:

Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures to ensure consistent product quality.

Conduct inspections and audits of internal processes, external processes, and finished goods to identify and address defects or inconsistencies.

Establish and maintain product quality standards, specifications, and tolerances.

Review customer RTV data, consumer reviews data, and internal rejection data to develop inspection plans and corrective actions.

Problem-Solving

and

Continuous Improvement

:

Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Lead initiatives to reduce defects, improve processes, and optimize efficiency.

Implement and monitor quality improvement projects, using Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.

Collaboration

and

Communication

:

Work closely with design, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality is integrated into all phases of product development, manufacturing, and logistics.

Communicate quality metrics, reports, and findings to stakeholders and recommend improvements.

Work with customers on quality-related matters, including complaints and feedback resolution.

Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISTA, or other relevant certifications).

Maintain and manage quality documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and certifications.

Stay updated on emerging regulations, standards, and technologies in the consumer plastic goods industry.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in consumer plastic goods or a related manufacturing industry.

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong understanding of plastic manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, blow molding, extrusion).

Proficiency in quality management tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, FMEA, PPAP, DOE).

Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, ASTM, REACH).

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

Microsoft Excel proficiency required.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Technical Proficiency:

Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and software tools.

Familiarity with statistical analysis and quality assurance tools (e.g., Minitab, SPC charts).

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Additional Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications:

Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) or Lean Manufacturing.

Experience with sustainability initiatives in plastic goods manufacturing.

Familiarity with logistics and supply chain.
