Quality Assurance Engineer

The Quality Assurance Engineer is primarily responsible for ensuring quality throughout the plant. The Quality Assurance Engineer will oversee Quality Control (QC) initiatives and conduct all scheduled QC audits to ensure procedures and standards are adhered to and products meet customer specifications. This position will support efficient manufacturing systems and standards of operations and work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Plant Management.

The Quality Assurance Engineer should be familiar with various production planning and quality assurance software and should possess excellent planning and organizational skills. The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks is a must for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own all QC initiatives to ensure procedures and QC standards are adhered to
Leads the Quality Assurance program, with the QA team, regularly inspect and evaluate finished goods for quality and defects, and performs QC audits
Track, record, and update all Quality Control KPI
Supervise all QC and Quality Assurance training
Review and identify any issues in the production processes and suggest improvements
Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurring/future defects by developing preventative actions
Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local, and Organizational Laws, Regulations, Guidelines, and best practices including those related to health and safety
This position may perform other duties in accordance with assigned plant requirements

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations for direct reports
In coordination with Human Resources, handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Participate in continuous improvement activity and training
Adhere to workplace safety regulation

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, Production Control, or related fields is preferred, though not required

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Five (5) to ten (10) years in a Quality Assurance role or supervisory position

REQUIRED OUTSIDE TRAINING:

American Welding Society (AWS) Certification or Certified Welding Inspection a plus, though not required

Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
