e&e is seeking a QA Engineer for a hybrid contract opportunity in Sandy Springs, GA!
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our software engineering team and help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of modern applications. This role is ideal for an experienced QA professional who is equally comfortable performing manual and automated testing while collaborating closely with developers throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with automation frameworks, API testing, relational databases, and modern development technologies, along with a passion for continuous improvement and delivering high-quality software. This is a hybrid position requiring onsite collaboration in the Atlanta area three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications and services.
- Build and maintain automated test suites using frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing across multiple applications.
- Test REST APIs using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Pact, or similar automated HTTP testing solutions.
- Validate application functionality by querying PostgreSQL or other relational databases to verify data integrity, backend processing, and transactional workflows.
- Create, document, and manage reproducible, technically detailed bug reports and work closely with engineering teams to resolve defects.
- Collaborate with software developers throughout the development lifecycle to ensure quality is built into every release.
- Determine the most effective balance between automated and manual testing based on project needs, complexity, and business value.
- Read and understand application code written in Go and Python to better validate system behavior and troubleshoot issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in QA processes, automation coverage, testing strategies, and release quality.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and other Agile development activities.
- Stay current on emerging testing tools, automation practices, and quality engineering methodologies.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or Test Engineering.
- Previous QA experience within a software company, enterprise technology environment, startup, or similar technical organization.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using at least one automated testing framework, preferably Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript for test automation.
- Familiarity with Go and Python sufficient to understand application behavior and validate services.
- Experience testing RESTful APIs using Postman, REST Assured, Pact, or comparable tools.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL or another relational database to query data, validate results, manage test fixtures, and verify backend processes.
- Strong experience performing manual, functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and reproducible defect reports with appropriate technical detail.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers and cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and grow into broader technical or leadership responsibilities.
- Comfortable working in an evolving QA organization where processes and best practices continue to mature.
- Ability to work onsite in the Atlanta area three days per week.
