We’re looking for a QA engineer to join the team at Durell https://durell.co.uk/

Your core responsibility will be implementing and maintaining automated front-end testing of our new web-based Policy Administration System – you can see videos introducing the system on our website here https://www.durell.co.uk/2025/02/06/introducing-durell/

You will work closely with our Technical Director, the Senior Product Owner and the development team working on the project. You will be helping us to robustly deliver intuitive, streamlined and efficient software that is a joy for our clients to use!

In your role:

·        You will collaborate closely with the Product Owner to ensure automated testing is seamlessly integrated into our release cycle.

·        You will design and implement an automation testing framework using industry best practices in which you will develop and maintain test cases that ensure thorough testing of the front-end.

·        You will provide clear and actionable feedback on test outcomes and system performance.

·        You will participate in regular team meetings to review the framework, test cases and to refine the testing process.

Technical requirements:

·        3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on automated testing.

·        Expertise in testing tools and frameworks e.g. Playright, Selenium.

·        Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in test automation e.g. Python, JavaScript, Java.

·        Understanding of Agile and software development processes.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.

·        Experience in the insurance industry is not a requirement but it will help!

Our technology stack is the following:

·        .Net Core/.Net Framework C# & VB

·        JavaScript/jQuery

·        MySQL

·        AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC etc.)

·        Azure DevOps (knowledge of CI/CD beneficial)

Work environment:

We are a diverse, inclusive team is based in a modern co-working space in the centre of Bristol.

It’s a full time role with flexibility around working hours and work-from-home.

What we offer:

Gross salary £25,000 – £35,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Enrolment in pension plan, employee contributions matched to 5%.

25 days paid holiday.

Progression to QA Lead as the team grows.
