ROLE
We are currently seeking an analytical and collaborative QA Engineer to support quality engineering efforts for a reputed banking client. In this role, you will be responsible for translating user stories and specifications into detailed test scenarios, executing diverse test types, and proactively identifying design or requirement bugs early in the lifecycle. Working closely with development and business teams, you will manage multiple testing assignments simultaneously, ensure risks are escalated proactively, and provide clear daily status updates to lead engineers to maintain robust quality standards.
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzing users stories, Use Cases, Requirements and raise requirement bugs
- Prepare test scenarios & test cases from specifications using test design techniques
- Collaborate with the Development/Business teams to understand the requirements and develop/manage the test scenarios/ testcases
- Validate design specifications and report design bugs
- Executing different types of tests required for the project as per the test strategy
- Report bugs and retest bugs
- Preparing reports on all testing carried out
- Daily status updates to the lead
- Pro actively escalate any risk, issues, assumptions and dependencies
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- 2 years' experience in software quality assurance
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science/ IT
- Having A/L Mathematics/Bio Science background with A or B grade for Physics/Combined Maths will be preferable
- ISTQB Foundation certificate is a must
- Thorough knowledge and skills in software quality engineering process
- Having strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Work with different teams – Team player
- Ability to communicate effectively with different project stakeholders
- Must be able to handle multiple testing assignments at the same time
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
