Position Opportunity
The Quality Inspector I will ensure the conformance of regular, routine products processed by the Cleanroom department through inspection and review of processes and products at various stages of processing.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Performs final inspection of routine finished items to ensure conformance to Astro Pak and Customer requirements
Generates Certificates of Conformance for routine finished work utilizing standard company processes
Performs inspection of newly received materials and customer hardware against company standards, as directed
Performs in-process inspections, as directed, and assists with internal audits
Act as a company Quality Department representative and prepare, review, and present documentation to customer representatives
Assist with Corrective Action responses and Quality Management System improvement initiatives, as directed
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
Handle multiple projects simultaneously
Use of various inspection tools, including calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment
Recognize problems and take corrective measures
Analyze and implement projects in compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws
Qualifications
Education/Training/Certifications: High school diploma/GED or equivalent required
Related Experience: Up to 2 years of work experience in quality control and documentation in a controlled production environment preferred
Overtime: Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required. 10-20% overtime to be expected.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong attention to detail
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities
Ability to interact at all levels of company and with people of various backgrounds and experience
Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment essential
PC-based computing experience (word processing-Word, spreadsheet-Excel, presentation- PowerPoint, and documentation) is essential
Legal capacity to comply with federally mandated requirements of the S. Export Control Laws
Hours
Monday-Friday
This person must be able to work flexible hours including first shift and swing shift as needed
Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Will be exposed to dust, fume, smoke, toxic chemicals and disagreeable odors
