Overview
Our client a well-established and reputable construction company is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and confident Quality Assurance Engineer to join its Health and Safety team in Glasgow.
About The Role
The Quality Engineer will provide advice on all Quality Assurance (QA) matters, ensuring compliance with quality policies and management system objectives across various construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain quality systems in line with company processes and industry standards.
Prepare, review, and update management system documentation to meet ISO standards.
Develop and conduct audit programmes for management systems and business processes.
Support the Compliance Manager in maintaining ISO and other certifications.
Conduct internal and external audits of company operations and suppliers, providing recommendations for improvement.
Offer QA advice throughout construction projects.
Prepare management reports on system performance.
Assist in tracking and resolving defects, non-conformances, and customer complaints.
Manage subcontractor and supplier pre-qualification, including audits.
Lead and support quality improvement initiatives within the company.
Advise on industry standards and regulatory changes affecting operations.
Investigate incidents and non-conformances, recommending improvements.
Deliver QA training and toolbox talks.
Represent the company at client quality meetings.
Essential
Skills & Experience Required:
ISO (9001, 14001, 45001) Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification
Experience in a Quality Assurance role
Knowledge of ISO standards, British Standards, and relevant legislation
Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
UK Driving Licence
Willingness to travel for audits as required across Scotland and Northern England
Desirable
Membership of professional bodies such as ICE, IEMA, IOSH, or CQI
HNC, HND, or Degree in an engineering-related discipline
Experience in construction, civil engineering, health & safety, or rail management systems
Knowledge of regulatory authorities such as SEPA, HSE, or ORR
Experience in data analysis and reporting
