About Aerospace Propulsion Products B.V. (APP)
Aerospace Propulsion Products (APP) is the European market leader in ignition systems for rocket engines. We design and manufacture these systems for leading European launch vehicle manufacturers. Our technology ensures reliable ignition of Launchers such as Ariane 6 and Vega, enabling space missions for telecommunications, science, and navigation.
In addition, APP develops space gas generators and related systems. APP is a subsidiary of ArianeGroup SAS.
About the role
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to strengthen our Quality team, with a strong focus on operational QA in both production and development.
In this role, you are actively present on the shopfloor and within projects, ensuring that products, processes, and documentation meet the highest standards. You play a key role in inspections, product release, non-conformance handling, and continuous improvement.
You will join a specialized Quality team (QA Manager + 2 QA Engineers) and work closely with engineering, production, suppliers, and customers such as ESA and primes.
Key responsibilities
- Act as QA focal point on the shopfloor during production, assembly, and testing
- Perform keypoint, incoming, and acceptance inspections
- Release materials, components, and products
- Manage and assess non-conformities (NCRs) and deviations
- Perform root cause analyses (e.g. 8D) and follow up on CAPA actions
- Support and review change requests and implementation
- Contribute to project quality plans
- Execute and follow up on internal and external audits
- Support FMECA, reliability analyses, and RAMS activities
- Ensure proper registration and follow-up of improvements
- Contribute to continuous improvement (LEAN / Six Sigma)
- Support calibration and control of measurement equipment
Your profile
- BSc/MSc in a technical field (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or similar)
- Experience in operational QA within production or high-tech environments
- Hands-on mindset; comfortable on the shopfloor
- Familiar with ISO9001, EN9100, preferably ECSS
- Experience with inspections and non-conformance handling
- Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented
- Proactive and solution-driven
- Strong communication skills; team player
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
Preferred experience
- Inspection, release, and acceptance processes
- Supplier quality & incoming inspections
- NCR, CAPA, 8D methodologies
- Space, aerospace, or high-reliability environments
- Cleanroom or controlled production environments
- Continuous improvement (LEAN / Six Sigma)
