About The Role

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer I to join our dynamic team focused on creating a world-class mobile experience for parents of athletes using Hudl. In this role, you will be instrumental in launching and scaling a new platform that keeps parents connected to their child's sports journey. Your primary responsibility will be to lead testing efforts within your squad, ensuring that every feature, highlight, and update is delivered with the highest quality and reliability. You will focus on both prevention and efficiency, utilizing automation, manual, and exploratory testing methods to identify and resolve issues early in the development cycle. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will advocate for quality and help shape a seamless user experience for parents engaging with Hudl’s mobile products.

Qualifications

  • Relevant education, such as a STEM bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Basic coding knowledge in Python or other programming languages
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate technical challenges
  • User-focused mindset with critical thinking about user experience
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with global teams
  • Experience working within an Agile Scrum framework is preferred
  • Exposure to mobile testing on iOS or Android platforms is a plus
  • Familiarity with mobile automation tools such as Appium, Detox, or React Native APIs is advantageous
  • Curiosity and eagerness to leverage AI tools for testing and documentation purposes
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development

Responsibilities

  • Champion the parent experience by ensuring the mobile platform provides a seamless, reliable user journey
  • Participate in all squad ceremonies to voice quality concerns and advocate for mobile-first strategies
  • Implement and maintain automated test cases, conduct exploratory testing, and perform manual testing to validate features
  • Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring they are resolved prior to release
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and improve testing processes
  • Help the team understand the impact of defects and prioritize issues based on user experience
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing frameworks and methodologies
  • Support rapid iteration cycles by providing timely feedback on new features and updates
