008 – Quality – Quality Specialist
1st Shift: 7am-3pm
Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the QMS. Monitors the QMS to ensure that all processes are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements. Reviews relevant data to support continual improvement and initiate corrective actions. Creates or manages projects to provide technical support to all departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Display exemplary safety practices
Quality Management System
Ensure compliance of all processes to maintain certification to ISO9001/AS9100, NADCAP (assistance), and all other applicable standards.
Manage all aspects of ISO/AS, and all other applicable Regulatory compliance.
Monitor performance of the entire QMS including processes, procedures, work instructions, and other quality documents to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
Prepare for and participate in all external audits as the responsible Audit Guide.
ISO9001/AS9100 Lead Internal Auditor. Prepare, perform, and report all internal audits. Manage the Internal Audit Team including audit planning and personnel training.
Drive internal improvement activities and maintain effective communication with Top Management, Department Heads, and other applicable plant personnel.
Document Control System Administrator
Review and approve all QMS controlled documents. Maintain and organize the document control system. Draft/Edit procedures and work instructions as needed.
Maintain process for consistent review of all documents and procedures and update as appropriate.
Ensure records are kept for required storage intervals prior to disposition.
Problem Control System Administrator
Report relevant quality information and notify appropriate personnel of quality related production problems. Perform and assist in root cause analysis, immediate correction, and corrective actions of these problems.
Manage completion of issues/customer complaints within the problem control system.
Monitor Quality KPI’s and relevant scrap data to create action plans aimed at improvement of issues that exceed the targeted monthly outcomes.
Analyze data to identify trends in product quality with the goal of mitigating/preventing recurrence and future defects.
Work with Quality Inspectors and Quality Technicians performing in-process inspections and testing activities throughout production cycles.
Responds to Quality needs across all departments to ensure full scope Quality support.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED. One year experience in extrusion operations.
Post-secondary education or degree is preferred.
ISO9001/AS9100 Internal Audit Training is a plus.
Problem Solving Training is a plus.

Maintain qualification to perform the duties of Lab Specialist
Familiar with and knowledgeable of Extrusion, Precision Extrusion, Finishing, Packing/Shipping, Fabrication, and Friction Stir Welding processes and requirements.
Knowledge of specifications and standards including: Aluminum Association, ASTM B221, AMS 2750, AMS 2772, ABS, Nadcap, AS9100, ISO9001.
Proficient in the use of Plex manufacturing system.
Ability to properly use common measurement and test equipment (ex. Caliper, micrometer, hand-held hardness tester, etc.)
Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft 365 applications.
Demonstrate ability to perform without supervision and work overtime as required.
Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write technical correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, auditors, or other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to perform mathematic calculations using established formulas.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed involved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving complex variables in production situations.
