Job Description
Title: Quality Control Technician
Reports to: Quality Assurance/Sanitation Manager
Status: Non-Exempt
Work Week: Full-time (1st, and/or 2nd Shift)
General description summary: Performs Quality Control sampling, testing, and scoring. Performs /assists in Shelf Life studies
(current and new products). Assists in maintaining/creating product specifications. Checks and calibrates metal detectors, thermometers and scales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (not in any priority):
➢ Maintains Shelf life studies and documents results
➢ Establishes and assures adherence to set specifications and standards of finished product
➢ Files and stores all Food Safety, Sanitation and QC data.
➢ Compiles data to create specification tolerances for finished product, and production equipment.
➢ Maintains all QC files.
➢ Prepares and submits daily/weekly summary reports.
➢ Performs daily product scoring and documents results.
➢ Checks metal detector logs daily to assure all finished product is within compliance of HACCP plan.
➢ Calibrates all scales daily
➢ Collects bread samples for lab and customers requesting monthly samples.
➢ Keeps lab and all equipment clean and orderly
➢ Adheres to all safety, GMP and house rules, helps monitor/enforce practices on the floor.
➢ Places product on HOLD/RELEASE, notifies management team of issues
➢ Performs pH testing on sourdough sponge and bread
➢ Calibrates/documents thermometers (handheld and portable).
➢ Glass and brittle plastic inspections. Weekly internal audits.
➢ Projects and assigned tasks not mentioned in this job description.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
➢ Computer literate (Word/Excel, Emails)
➢ Previous experience in lab or office setting.
Experience Requirements:
➢ Preferred Quality Control experience
Physical Requirements:
➢ Standing/ Walking: Regularly (67-100%)
➢ Lifting/ Pulling/ Pushing: Regularly (67-100%)
➢ Fingering/Grasping/feeling: Frequently (67-100%)

Manufacturing: 3 years (Required)
Food industry: 3 years (Preferred)
