Job Summary
Performs in-process and final inspection of products used in airframe and missile manufacturing. Analyzes engineering blueprints, process specifications, shop travelers, and manufacturing planning documents to determine inspection requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Determines inspection methods and techniques; plans operation sequences; selects measuring instruments; performs surface inspections using standard tools; applies shop mathematics.
Conducts first article, receiving, in-process, and final inspections; visually and dimensionally inspects airframe parts and aerospace assemblies.
Witnesses first piece production, certifies acceptability, and performs inspections during build-up and testing to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
Inspects incoming materials for correct formulation, serialization, and certifications; checks heat codes and lot numbers; certifies proper bonding and material characteristics; prepares shipping data for soft goods components.
Monitors oven and cure processes; performs leak tests using plant gases.
Prepares rework tags, inspection reports, and documentation; coordinates rejection processes; assembles end-item documentation; maintains records.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED required; AA or trade school preferred.
At least 2 years of Quality Assurance inspection experience, including interface with customers and management.
US Citizenship or permanent residency required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
ASQ Certified Quality Inspector preferred.
Experience in AS9100 environment preferred.
Ability to read and analyze engineering drawings and blueprints.
Proficiency with inspection tools and understanding of production processes and materials.
Knowledge of standards and software like AS9102, Net-Inspect, and military specifications.
Effective communication and organizational skills; proficient in MS Word/Outlook.

Special Requirements
Knowledge of Net Inspect, Inspection Expert, and related specifications.
Expected to achieve ASQ CQI certification within 12 months.
