Position Summary
Reporting to the Quality & Distribution Manager, and located 100% on site at 2 Walker Drive, Brampton, Ontario, this position will be responsible for implementing quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality products or services. The position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify quality issues, develop solutions, and implement best practices to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Responsible for Incoming, In-process, Final and Pre-shipment inspection of parts, sub-assemblies and finished weldments as required by applying skilled metrology techniques using accurate measuring devices such as rules, protractors, tape measures, vernier-calipers and height gauges, micrometres, dial gauges, bore gauges, gauge blocks and pins, angle plates, platen inspection tables etc.
Inspectors are required to inspect parts and assemblies on a continuous basis throughout their scheduled work shift to ensure that customer specifications are being met and that in-process inspection status checks are being completed.
Must keep accurate inspection control records while enforcing all related customer specifications.
May be involved in Jig and Fixture calibration as well as measuring instrument calibration keeping accurate and up to date records
Advise and collaborate with supervisors and lead hands on corrective and preventative action to be taken with non-conformant parts etc.
Preparation of Quality Assurance documentation, inspection checklists and reports, discrepancy lists, non-conformance reports, certificates of compliance etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Mindset, Skills & Education

College/University Diploma coupled with 3 – 5 years of manufacturing experience.
Three to five years related years of experience in quality inspection or a related role in manufacturing industry.
In-depth knowledge of Blueprint reading and interpretation (with working knowledge of size and geometric tolerancing systems, both metric and imperial measuring systems and of welding symbology
Ability to analyze blueprint discrepancies and suggest corrective measures
Exceptional accuracy when verifying parts, sub-assemblies and complex assemblies against drawings using measuring instruments such as measuring tapes, caliper, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, protractors etc.
Working knowledge of GMAW/FMAW welding and machining processes
Excellent work ethic, coupled with a commitment to maintaining a high level of Quality Assurance
Good command of the English language both verbal and written coupled with excellent interpersonal skills, a good command of metal fabrication engineering and shop terminology.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, automotive, aerospace) is a plus.
Familiarity with DOS based manufacturing software, MS Windows, MS Office Suite, Visio Project etc.
