This position is responsible for evaluating, measuring, and developing quality processes, systems, and policies to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations. Acts in both the hands on and the strategic and tactical, analyzing complex data, driving continuous improvement, and leading root cause investigations, while also coaching and collaborating directly with production, engineering, and supply chain teams. Maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction is critically important in this role.

Essential Functions

Develop, implement, and monitor quality systems, policies, and procedures that promote product and process integrity.
Perform hands-on root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives.
Act as a working manager—providing leadership to quality technicians and analysts while actively participating in inspections, audits, and process reviews.
Analyze quality data and performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Define, document, and drive continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
Lead internal and external audits; maintain compliance with ISO standards or other relevant regulatory frameworks.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and ensure best practices are followed.
Champion a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Evaluate supplier quality performance and participate in supplier development initiatives.
Provide training and mentoring to junior engineers, including onboarding new team members, sharing best practices, and offering guidance on technical challenges.
Foster a collaborative learning environment to help them develop their skills and advance their careers.

Required Skills/Abilities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to interpret data and translate into process improvements.
Proven ability to lead and influence teams without formal authority.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization.
In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, root cause analysis, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
Hands-on experience with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, PPAP, MSA, and control plans.
Comfortable on the shop floor, working side-by-side with operators and technicians.
Proficiency with quality software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, including the ability to identify and eliminate waste, streamline processes, and improve efficiency. Demonstrated success in implementing Lean tools and techniques such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping production to drive continuous improvement and enhance overall operational performance.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or related field.
Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in a quality engineering role within manufacturing.
Experience leading quality improvement initiatives and managing technical staff.

Preferred Qualifications

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification.
Experience with ERP and quality management systems (QMS).
Background in electronics or precision manufacturing preferred.
