Quality Assurance Inspector 3rd Shift Jobs in Ixonia, WI at G & V Machine Company Inc
Starting wage is based on relevant experience. Wage range includes 25% 3rd shift premium.
Starting base wage is $20-30 hourly, plus 25% shift premium ($25-$37.50)
3rd shift schedule: 10PM-6AM Sunday night to Thursday night.
BASIC DUTIES:
To perform all duties of a Quality Assurance Technician and perform other tasks as assigned or requested.
Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager
Offers assistance to: Production, Engineering and Purchasing.
POSITION DUTIES:
1. Inspects machined parts and assemblies per Quality Plan and customer specifications to ensure conformance to prints.
2. Measures dimensions using precision hand measuring instruments and coordinate measuring machine.
3. Compares surface finish of work piece to finish standard or by using profilometer.
4. Test hardness of materials by using hardness testing machines.
5. Performs receiving, first piece, in-process, and final inspection as assigned.
6. Performs floor audits to verify part quality, adherence to quality plans, and assist operators in process improvements.
7. Notifies responsible employee and /or supervisor of any non-compliant conditions discovered on parts during inspection.
8. Analyzes inspection reports and recommends process adjustments where needed.
9. Provides machine operators with document interpretation.
10. Issue gages per quality plan and assists in maintaining gage traceability.
11. Reviews with operators proper inspection technique and application of gages.
12. Assists training of new employees in print reading, usage of inspection tools, gages and other measuring devices.
13. Initiates and/or completes required quality documentation.
14. Calibrates basic gauging equipment and records results.
15. Review gages that have been returned for repair and accuracy before restocking.
16. Assists receiving personnel in receiving inspection as needed.
17. Participates in employee quality training programs as needed.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
A.
High School diploma or GED plus 2 years of progressive experience in metalworking.
Ability to clearly communicate with employees, peers, management and with customers.
Good mechanical aptitude, shop mathematics and understands machining processes.
Experienced as a team player, outgoing personality and ability to give useful feedback.
Basic print reading and specification interpretation.
B.
Two years experience using basic inspection techniques.
Note: Managerial requirements can be waived at the discretion of the department head.
1. Understands basic principles of ISO 9001.
2. Trained in ISO System Procedures.
3. Knowledge of inspection techniques.
4. Computer skills with applications defined per position.
5. Knowledge of CMM software language commands.
6. Able to execute computerized programs on CMM’s.
7. Ability to calibrate and adjust basic gauging equipment.
8. Basic statistical concepts.
9. Understands basic GD&T principles.
10. Trained in team problem solving techniques.
