Role and Responsibilities Responsible for inspecting fuel cells and related components throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with company standards, customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality requirements. The Fuel Cell Manufacturing Quality Inspector is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections, documenting quality findings, identifying non-conforming materials and products, verifying corrective actions, maintaining inspection records, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The inspector will work closely with production personnel, engineering, and quality teams to ensure products meet all safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications, Education, Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Previous manufacturing quality inspection experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and work instructions
  • Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and measuring instruments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to identify, document, and communicate quality concerns effectively
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and quality documentation systems
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands The physical requirements of persons in this position classification are:

  • Regular use of hands and arms for inspecting products, completing documentation, and utilizing measuring devices
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout manufacturing and inspection areas during work shifts
  • Ability to work in Confined Spaces for extended period of time through out the shift.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to inspect products and equipment
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and components weighing up to 35 pounds
  • Visual acuity required to identify defects, verify measurements, and review documentation
  • Manual dexterity necessary to operate inspection tools and testing equipment

Work Environment This position is primarily performed within a manufacturing and production environment. The Fuel Cell Manufacturing Quality Inspector will regularly work around production equipment, rubber materials, adhesives, chemicals, and other manufacturing processes. Noise levels may vary throughout the facility, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and other required safety gear, must be worn in designated areas. The inspector will routinely interact with production, engineering, and quality personnel to ensure compliance with company and customer quality standards.
