Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Quality Control & Assurance Inspector is responsible for performing goods inwards inspection processes on all inbound materials and components, ensuring they meet defined quality standards and drawing specifications. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of the manufacturing process by verifying that all parts and products are fit for purpose before entering production. The inspector also supports quality assurance efforts by applying established procedures, techniques, and tools to record and analyze data, identify deviations, and validate compliance with internal and external standards.
This position ensures that all quality control policies and procedures are properly followed and enforced within the San Antonio facility, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform goods inwards inspections on all incoming components and assemblies — with a focus on injection-molded plastic parts, railing tubing, and precision fittings — to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Conduct in-process inspections during manufacturing to verify that all products meet engineering and quality requirements at each stage of production.
Monitor and enforce quality procedures and policies throughout the San Antonio facility, promoting a positive, quality-first culture among staff and departments.
Investigate and escalate unusual or critical quality issues to the Quality Supervisor for timely resolution.
Collaborate with the receiving and manufacturing teams to identify and address internal quality issues; recommend process improvements where applicable.
Perform quality-related administrative tasks, including the preparation and filing of inspection reports, First Article Inspection documentation, and daily quality checklists.
Support the Material Review Board (MRB) process by supervising inventory transactions, managing non-conforming material, and coordinating rework or vendor returns.
Handle returned orders: inspect for quality issues, recommend corrective actions to the sales department, and ensure accurate restocking or disposal.
Participate in special quality projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
Supports team efforts by taking on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to advance shared goals, and performs other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team and organization.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant inspection area and follow all company rules and procedures

High School diploma required; Academic degree in the appropriate major is desired.
Minimum of 2 years quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
Prior experience in metal fabrication, plastic injection molding or similar industries preferred.
Ability to use a pallet jack and dolly.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English including correspondence and presentations.
Must read and understand engineering drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Must have working knowledge of standard inspection equipment and use of calipers, micrometers, and tape measures with the ability to learn new equipment or procedures as required.
Strong basic math skills as well as general ability to apply basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize work duties.
Strong computer skills including MS, Outlook, and ERP.
Must display the ability to be a quick learner, highly motivated, team player, self-starter.
Note: A pre-employment test on blueprint and calculations will be administered to evaluate the candidate’s aptitude.
